Your budget stays in the tab

The calculator sends no entries to NZI or a third-party calculation service. It does not ask for your name, contact details, passport, visa or bank-account details. Budget and checklist entries stay out of page addresses and persistent local storage. The working move plan, household budget, property comparison, transfers between tools and checklist entries use your browser tab’s temporary session storage. This lets you consult another guide or reload without starting again. Transfers show an explanation if temporary storage is unavailable. Print or download a copy to keep your work.

The move tool’s “Clear amounts and saved work” action clears its saved plans. Each checklist has a separate clear action. Session storage normally ends when the tab closes, but browser session-restoration features can restore it. Use a device and browser profile you trust. Downloading an editable plan or budget, printing, and saving a PDF create copies you control. Opening a saved plan reads it locally and asks before replacing your current plans. Check where you store or share files that contain personal financial information.

Visiting the website

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people visit and how they reach NZI. Google receives information about those visits, such as the page, browser and device, and processes your connection information. Analytics cookies help distinguish visits. Where prior choice is required for this setup, Analytics stays off until you select “Accept”. Elsewhere it can run without an upfront prompt; select “Reject” through “Analytics choices” in the footer to stop it. A previous rejection is respected wherever you visit from. There is no advertising on NZI.

Your budget amounts, income, savings, payment dates, checklist entries and saved plan files are excluded from analytics. Page addresses sent to Analytics omit query strings and fragments, and referring sites are reduced to their domain. Automatic form, download and outbound-link tracking is disabled, along with advertising personalization and Google signals.

We remember your analytics choice in this browser for up to six months using local storage. This preference contains no budget entries. Analytics cookies last up to six months. Use “Analytics choices” in the footer to change your choice; choosing “Reject” stops further measurement and clears NZI’s Analytics cookies. It does not erase visits already recorded. You can also clear cookies and site data through your browser. Google explains how it uses information from websites that use its services.

Our hosting service uses its country-level IP lookup to select the applicable analytics setting. This lookup returns only a country code to the page; NZI adds no IP-address database or precise-location record. If the lookup fails, or NZI has not enabled Analytics for that country, Analytics stays off. A browser Global Privacy Control signal also keeps Analytics off.

Like ordinary website delivery, the hosting service may process connection information such as an IP address and a requested page in server logs. The calculator’s entries are not part of those page requests.

Links to banks, public agencies and other sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Use their intended secure channels when an application requires personal documents.
